CCW Christmas Countdown - Day 13

Christmas Countdown 2012 - Day 13

42 Sleeps to go

Welcome to day 13 of the CCW christmas countdown, today its my turn to show you what I have been creating and it is the beginnings of my December journal. I have never done one before but with the girls growing up so fast I wanted to try and capture all those magical moments you get throughout december and leading up to christmas.

The front cover of my journal:

A close up of the flowers:

I have used the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage advent kit to start with but have added in other papers and embellishments from the same collection. Here I have used the flowers with a gem brad centre.

The pennant underneath is part of a 12x12 sheet and a banner strip from the banner pack.

I inked around all of the papers and flowers before adding them on and then added one of the stickers from the sticker sheet so I can put the month and year onto it.

Inside pages include:

Page 1:

I have mounted all the patterned papers onto black bazzill, created pockets on the pages using co-ordinating papers so I can tuck in some journalling tags and any extras I may have throughout the month.

December 1st is normally when I put up the christmas tree as you cannot beat the feeling on cold winter nights with the twinkling of the lights on the tree. It's so magical. This is why I chose to stamp the christmas tree stamp on this page too.

All of the pages are different shapes and sizes as I quite like the mixed look in the smaller albums. Day 5 is a rectangle shape and quite plan as I didn't want them all to be very fancy as some days throughout December are busier then others for us.

Day 7 I have just left space to add a photo and can add a small journalling tag once the picture is in place.

Day 10 this year is a special day as we will be celebrating my daughter's 1st birthday so I wanted to make this day abit special and give myself room to add in extra's as there will be alot of memories throughout the day. Here I have added a small pocket to the corner of the page where I can add in photo's and journalling tags to journal some of the memories.

Then my final pages to show you are christmas eve, well I don't want to ruin the posts throughout december too much by showing it all now. Christmas eve is a special time in our house as we tend to sit down to a lovely meal and are given a new set of pyjama's so we can all have baths and put our new pyjamas on, put stockings out, a drink and snack for Santa and Rudolph. I also tie the magic key to the front door so Santa will be able to get in as we don't have a chimney for him to come down.

I will show you all the pages throughout December as they are filled in so make sure you pop back then so you can see it all.

Thank you for popping in to see my post and I hope I may have inspired you to have a go at capturing your festive memories.

See you tomorrow for another festive project.
