Day 3 of our Christmas Countdown

CREATIVE CRAFT WORLD CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN 2011
DOOR HANGER

Christmas Countdown Day 3

52 Sleeps to go

Welcome to my blog and for popping across and taking a peek at my project for today.

I am making a door hanger to go on my daughter's door on Christmas Eve.

The basic door hanger alterable blank can be found instore here.

Supplies Needed:

Door Hanger Blank
Mica Mist - Silver (any choice of ink or paint is fine)
Papers - I have used Pebbles Inc as I love these
Ribbons - co-ordinating to papers
Sticker embellishments
Alphabets
Border Punch
Double Sided Tape
Glue Gun/ Glue Pen
Scissors

Now to make the door hanger:

Step 1:

Lay out your blank on paper or messy mat to ink/paint. I have used some spare sheets of paper ontop of my craft mat. I then sprayed all over with silver mica mist making sure to get all the edges of the blank. I then left to dry and repeated on the back. It will look something like this:

Step 2:
Draw around the door hanger onto your chosen paper and carefully cut out. You will then be left with a paper door hanger like this.

Step 3:
Cover the door hanger with the paper, I attached mine using quick glue pen You will then have a door hanger covered in your chosen paper. Trim down any edges with scissors or craft knife.

Step 4:
Pick your co-ordinating papers and cut strips from your paper, you can use any scraps if you have some big enough for this.

Step 5:
Choose a border punch and punch your design along one side of the strips of paper.

Step 6:
Layer your strips onto your door hanger in your chosen order. Trim down any excess paper from the side.

Step 7:
Using scraps of card, mount any chosen stickers onto this and cut out, this is so that when they hang over the edges they are strong enough not to bend.

Step 8:
Using foam pads attach stickers onto door hanger in chosen position.

Step 9:
Add your wording and embellish with chosen ribbons to finish.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my door hanger and would love to see if you have a go at making one. Make sure you check out the CCW challenge blog for tomorrow's project.
