Scrap Map @CCW

Wow another month has gone by but at least we are having some nice weather, we have really enjoyed being able to play outside and have some fun in the sun. Hope you have too.

Anyway its the first Saturday of the month and there is another chance to win over at Creative Craft World with a brand new scrap map.

Pop across to the blog here and take part.

My LO features the hugely popular hexagons at the moment, I used the MME Be Happy papers and cut up some of the hexagons and ended up with this.

This is one of the first pictures taken of our second daughter Daisy, she was tiny at 5lb 8oz but is definatly making up for it now.

This is a close up of the hexagons to the side of the picture, I used the lined hexagon on the sheet as my journalling tag. It was much easier then doing my own as it was already the right shape and size.

A little bit of bling to the one side of the picture, the gorgeous wood flower is from one of my good friends and I love them, so keep an eye out for more on future LO's.

A close up of the picture. These really were special moments and I will cherish them forever.

Thank you for taking the time to come and look.

I would like to enter this into the Scrapology Challenge - H is for hexagons

Scrapping again...

Well I have managed to do a couple of little crafty bits recently, some decorations for some jubilee cupcakes, will post these when made and decorated the cakes.

I have also managed a LO, I got my inspiration from the Scrap365 blog so will enter it into their monthly challenge which can be found here

I have used the gorgeous MME Hoowdy Doody collection, I have been lovingly looking at the pins and buttons of this collection for weeks but finally took the plunge and got them. They can be found here at Creative Craft World.

This picture shows the embellishments and little banners I have used to decorate the one side of the pictures. It also shows that I have stitched each of the buttons onto the LO, I have used white thread so a bit hard to see on the main picture.

Here I have shown the use of the Martha Stewart punch to create the frilly look along the bottom of the patterned papers. This is my favourite punch at the moment, have only had it a couple of weeks but used it quite alot.

Then finally the picture of the banners on the other side of the pictures.

Thank you for looking and will try scrap and post more soon.

Scrap365 Challenge

Well I needed some inspiration to get my scrapping mojo going again, it seems to disappear alot these days and am always struggling to get through the huge pile of photos from the past few years.

Then I discovered the Scrap365 challenges and thought I would give it a go, I don't really go into entering challenges and things but hey I need to get my scrapping mojo back once and for all.

I used the April Kit from Creative Craft World, which is available here

I decided to scrap some of my favourite pictures of my daughter Poppy, this was last year and she was picking and eating the grapes off the vine. It is the first time using my new camera which I had for my birthday so this must be late September.

The Challenge blog can be found here and I would like to enter it into the May challenge.

Thank you for taking the time to come and look at my work.

January Scrap Map @ CCW

Well today the team over at Creative Craft World are launching this month's scrap map and I didn't think I would be able to take part what with baby being due on 28th december. I knew what picture I wanted to scrap at the beginning of december but not having it until baby arrived I worked on all the background and things beforehand so that all I would need to do is add the picture once I had it.

Anyway here is the map:

The LO has been sat patiently waiting for the picture since 4th December so am really pleased to be able to do the scrap map and show it off to you.

Here is my take on the LO:

I have tried to keep to the scrap map but give it my own twist and to be honest I have loved doing it. Now just to find the time to keep up with scrapping.

I know the picture isn't perfect but it is so special to me as it is the very first picture of my two princesses together the day after Daisy's birth and caught quickly with my phone. Here is the picture so you can see it properly.

I have used scraps left over from the Echo Park Be Mine collection pack from last valentines day, I have used these collection pack loads and there is still enough left over to make at least another LO and card, I just find scrapping with these papers so easy as they compliment each other so well.

I love the journalling cards you get within the kits and thought this one suited the picture perfectly. I cannot begin to tell you how much love I feel for my girls but the way Poppy is with Daisy just melts my heart she is so good with her, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Thats it for january scrap map, hope you pop across and enter as we would love to see what you come up with for it.

I would like to enter this into the XOXO Girls One Challenge, I was inspired by Khristen with the family theme of siblings.

How it fits the One Challenge:
  • One Collection - Echo Park Be Mine
  • One Prima Crystal Swirl
  • One Word as Title - Love
  • One Journalling Card
  • One Ink pad to edge all papers
  • Daisy is One day old

See you again soon and thank you for looking.

Almost Finished...

My final LO from today isn't quite finished yet but I thought I would share it with you anyway. I would like to put some journalling on it as this is a very special memory from my pregnancy and I want to copy some of the feelings I had at this moment from my diary so that when Poppy reads it when she is older she can understand how amazing it was and how much I loved her even then. 4D Scan: At 32 weeks we had a 4D scan, and this was the most amazing thing I had ever seen, to see the features of our little baby was breath taking. We could see she had a little button nose - so definatly not taking after her Daddy! She sat with her one arm/hand up by her face and the other was just under her chin as though her head was resting on it. You can see in all the pictures. When she was born this was how she slept too, her left hand was always up by her face. I couldn't believe how clear the scan was and am absolutely delighted we had one. Materials Used: Paper & Cardstock - Bazzill Basics - Quicksand Echo Park - Life Is Good Collection Pack Embellishments - Prima E Line Crystals We R Memory Keepers Eyelets & Snaps - Baby Girl Flowers - selection from stash American Crafts Glitter Thickers

20 Week Scan...

...well the crafting has continued and I have managed to finish another LO, this time it is the scan picture from our 20 week scan, this is where we found out our little 'Pip' was infact a 'Poppy'....this secret was very hard to keep from people but we managed it with only a few family members knowing that we were having a girl. It is so amazing seeing this little person on scan which is growing inside you. Anyway this is the LO I have created for this: Being a midwife I am normally on the other side of things and have experienced scans from watching on screen at someone else's but the love and emotion I felt when I saw my little baby was incredible and scrapping these pictures just brings back so many memories and the occasional tear. I find it sad I'm not pregnant anymore but I love having Poppy. Materials Used: Paper & Cardstock- Bazzill Basics - Sea Salt Echo Park A Walk In the Park - Sunshine Embellishments - Prima E Line Crystals, We R Memory Keepers - Eyelets & Snaps - Baby Girl Flowers - Mix from own stash coloured with promarkers Wording - Doodlebug Loopy Love

Tender Moments...

Well after 8 months of having Poppy I have finally managed to get around to scrapping some pictures, after seeing some LO's by some very talented people it gave me the kick up the bum I needed to get the crafting bug again....I haven't touched anything crafty in nearly 9 months...well my time was taken up with looking after a certain someone! Anyway here are my efforts: This is a double paged LO and they are mirror images to a certain extent.
Tender Moments
These are the very first pictures taken of Poppy and I just after she was born. It was such an amazing feeling holding her for the very first time, looking back at these pictures reminds me of that moment.
Precious Memories
These are taken a little later after Poppy had been cleaned and rewrapped. I just couldn't stop staring at this beautiful little girl which had been given to me. Words cannot describe the happiness of these moments. Materials Used: Background Cardstock - Bazzill Bling - String Of Pearls Pink Background Paper - Echo Park Life Is Good Collection Pack Ink Pad - Versa Magic Dew Drop - Malted Mauve Embellishments - Prima E Line Crystals Prima Symphony Blend - Amoroso Pink Heart punch Wording - American Crafts Thickers Everything apart from the versa magic dew drop ink was from Creative Craft World.

When she was born this was how she slept too, her left hand was always up by her face. I couldn't believe how clear the scan was and am absolutely delighted we had one.
