CCW Christmas Countdown - Day 13

Christmas Countdown 2012 - Day 13

42 Sleeps to go

Welcome to day 13 of the CCW christmas countdown, today its my turn to show you what I have been creating and it is the beginnings of my December journal. I have never done one before but with the girls growing up so fast I wanted to try and capture all those magical moments you get throughout december and leading up to christmas.

The front cover of my journal:

A close up of the flowers:

I have used the Teresa Collins Christmas Cottage advent kit to start with but have added in other papers and embellishments from the same collection. Here I have used the flowers with a gem brad centre.

The pennant underneath is part of a 12x12 sheet and a banner strip from the banner pack.

I inked around all of the papers and flowers before adding them on and then added one of the stickers from the sticker sheet so I can put the month and year onto it.

Inside pages include:

Page 1:

I have mounted all the patterned papers onto black bazzill, created pockets on the pages using co-ordinating papers so I can tuck in some journalling tags and any extras I may have throughout the month.

December 1st is normally when I put up the christmas tree as you cannot beat the feeling on cold winter nights with the twinkling of the lights on the tree. It's so magical. This is why I chose to stamp the christmas tree stamp on this page too.

All of the pages are different shapes and sizes as I quite like the mixed look in the smaller albums. Day 5 is a rectangle shape and quite plan as I didn't want them all to be very fancy as some days throughout December are busier then others for us.

Page 7:

Day 7 I have just left space to add a photo and can add a small journalling tag once the picture is in place.

Day 10 this year is a special day as we will be celebrating my daughter's 1st birthday so I wanted to make this day abit special and give myself room to add in extra's as there will be alot of memories throughout the day. Here I have added a small pocket to the corner of the page where I can add in photo's and journalling tags to journal some of the memories.

Then my final pages to show you are christmas eve, well I don't want to ruin the posts throughout december too much by showing it all now. Christmas eve is a special time in our house as we tend to sit down to a lovely meal and are given a new set of pyjama's so we can all have baths and put our new pyjamas on, put stockings out, a drink and snack for Santa and Rudolph. I also tie the magic key to the front door so Santa will be able to get in as we don't have a chimney for him to come down.

I will show you all the pages throughout December as they are filled in so make sure you pop back then so you can see it all.

Thank you for popping in to see my post and I hope I may have inspired you to have a go at capturing your festive memories.

See you tomorrow for another festive project.

CCW Christmas Countdown - Day 3 & Scrap Map

Christmas Countdown 2012 - Day 3

52 Sleeps to go

Welcome to day 3 of the CCW christmas countdown, today's festive project is linked with our monthly scrap map. Pop across to the challenge blog here for more projects.

This is a LO of the pictures of Poppy from her 4D scan at 32 weeks, when she was born and on her 1st and 2nd birthday. The journalling is my memories of the times and what I wish for her as she grows up. We will be celebrating her 3rd birthday at the end of the month so watch out for some more pictures and LO's then.

See you tomorrow for another festive project.

Oh my I've scrapped something...

I'm sure you all know by now I have massive fluctuations with my scrapping mojo but going to crops it has given me chance to actually sit down without the girls and finally start scrapping again. Maybe the mountain of photo's might start to go down...I think this is wishful thinking on my part though.

Anyway here is the latest addition to my scrapbook for Daisy.

I have used MME Quite Contrary papers (I think, they have been in my stash a while) and it is our 20 week scan here where we found out we were having our second daughter, this did come as abit of a shock as I really thought it was a boy as the pregnancy had been so different to the first one.

My journalling about the scan and how we felt with the dates, I can't believe it was nearly a year ago now. How fast time goes by.

This is one of the stickers from the sticker sheet I had and have just stamped 'growing' on it with some little hampton art alphabet stamps. I'm not much of a stamper but I am trying as know some lovely people who put stamping into all their LO's and they look fab.

Then finally a picture of our scan, I must admit the pictures of the scan are really good and we were very lucky.

Hope you like them and thank you for taking the time to stop by.

Sleeping Beauty

This is Poppy's due date, my sisters birthday but Poppy decided she didn't want to share her birthday so made her appearance a week earlier. Looking back she was so small but some more memories treasured forever.

A Mothers Love

These are some of the pictures from when we first got Poppy home at just 15hours old. I will always remember these moments and how I felt for this beautiful little person who had come into our lives.....it only feels like yesterday and not 10months ago!

Great Grandad

The first time Poppy met her 98year old Great Grandad at just 5 days old. These memories will be treasured forever and I want to be able to show Poppy them when she grows up.

Grandad & Me

This is the first time my dad met and held Poppy, she is 4 hours old here, just waiting to be able to go home. My poor dad looks exhausted, think I might have kept them awake most of the night being in labour and then ringing at 4am to tell them Poppy had arrived.

Blooming Tummy...

I have managed to finish another LO from my pregnancy, the pile of pictures is coming down very very slowly....I might have caught up by the time Poppy is 18 at this rate. Anyway the latest layout is a picture of my tummy at 32 weeks pregnant which is the time that we went for our 4D scan, I thought it was nice to see what it was like at that stage compared to the scan. I decorated it all with the flowers before deciding upon the title and it was only after I had finished it all I realised blooming with flowers - abit of a coincidence really. Materials Used Paper & Cardstock - Bazzill Basics Mauve Ice A Walk In the Park - Picnic Fun Embellishments- AC Thickers LYB Journal Circle Mix of flowers from stash Jewels & brads - own stash I would like to enter this into the August challenge over at Sir Stampalot as the theme is 'Bring on the Bling' and can be found here I have added bling with the glittery letters and the gems dotted throughout the flowers. Also like to enter it into the Crafts & Me Challenges - Challenge 11 Petals & Pearls

Almost Finished...

My final LO from today isn't quite finished yet but I thought I would share it with you anyway. I would like to put some journalling on it as this is a very special memory from my pregnancy and I want to copy some of the feelings I had at this moment from my diary so that when Poppy reads it when she is older she can understand how amazing it was and how much I loved her even then. 4D Scan: At 32 weeks we had a 4D scan, and this was the most amazing thing I had ever seen, to see the features of our little baby was breath taking. We could see she had a little button nose - so definatly not taking after her Daddy! She sat with her one arm/hand up by her face and the other was just under her chin as though her head was resting on it. You can see in all the pictures. When she was born this was how she slept too, her left hand was always up by her face. I couldn't believe how clear the scan was and am absolutely delighted we had one. Materials Used: Paper & Cardstock - Bazzill Basics - Quicksand Echo Park - Life Is Good Collection Pack Embellishments - Prima E Line Crystals We R Memory Keepers Eyelets & Snaps - Baby Girl Flowers - selection from stash American Crafts Glitter Thickers

20 Week Scan...

...well the crafting has continued and I have managed to finish another LO, this time it is the scan picture from our 20 week scan, this is where we found out our little 'Pip' was infact a 'Poppy'....this secret was very hard to keep from people but we managed it with only a few family members knowing that we were having a girl. It is so amazing seeing this little person on scan which is growing inside you. Anyway this is the LO I have created for this: Being a midwife I am normally on the other side of things and have experienced scans from watching on screen at someone else's but the love and emotion I felt when I saw my little baby was incredible and scrapping these pictures just brings back so many memories and the occasional tear. I find it sad I'm not pregnant anymore but I love having Poppy. Materials Used: Paper & Cardstock- Bazzill Basics - Sea Salt Echo Park A Walk In the Park - Sunshine Embellishments - Prima E Line Crystals, We R Memory Keepers - Eyelets & Snaps - Baby Girl Flowers - Mix from own stash coloured with promarkers Wording - Doodlebug Loopy Love

Tender Moments...

Well after 8 months of having Poppy I have finally managed to get around to scrapping some pictures, after seeing some LO's by some very talented people it gave me the kick up the bum I needed to get the crafting bug again....I haven't touched anything crafty in nearly 9 months...well my time was taken up with looking after a certain someone! Anyway here are my efforts: This is a double paged LO and they are mirror images to a certain extent.
